Join us for the 2026 Koopmans Lecture featuring David E. Victorson
and his presentation,
The healing power of nature: from research to real lives.
Dr. Victorson is a licensed psychologist, Professor of Medical Social Sciences at Northwestern University, and Director of the Flourishing in Society and Health Research Lab. He also serves as Director of Research at the Osher Center for Integrative Health and leads Integrative Oncology Research at the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center. His work focuses on how mindfulness, emotional well-being, social connection, and engagement with nature can support resilience and flourishing for individuals and communities affected by cancer.
The event will be hosted by David Spence, one of Calgary’s most familiar and beloved media personalities. Known for his long-standing career in broadcasting and his passion for weather, nature, and storytelling, David will also share his personal experience with cancer and his deep connection to the natural world—bringing a heartfelt local perspective to the evening.
