Calgary Insight Meditation Society is delighted to welcome Ayya Ahimsa this fall for a special non-residential retreat. A respected Theravāda Buddhist nun and teacher, Ayya Ahimsa is known for offering teachings that are warm, practical, clear, and deeply rooted in the Dhamma.
In this retreat, we will explore listening as an essential aspect of mindfulness and loving presence. Through meditation and reflection, we will cultivate the capacity to listen deeply—to our hearts, bodies, and inner wisdom, as well as to one another. As Paul Tillich wrote, "The first duty of love is to listen." Together, we will investigate how learning to listen more fully can become a pathway to greater compassion, connection, and freedom.
Participants will engage in a dedicated period of practice during the day while returning home each evening.
